I work at an American Booksellers Association (ABA) store, how do I tell publishers?

We encourage you to let publishers know that you are a member of the ABA, to make it easier for publishers to approve your requests.

Booksellers who are members of the American Booksellers Association can add their ABA numbers to their NetGalley profile. When you request books on NetGalley, publishers will see an ABA logo under your name, allowing them to easily identify you as a confirmed ABA member. Booksellers who enter their ABA numbers are generally approved more quickly and often.

To add your number:

  1. Sign into NetGalley and click on your name at the top of the screen.
  2. Scroll to the first section under your name where you see "Bookseller" listed, and click "EDIT" to the right of the screen.
  3. Then enter your ABA number and click "SAVE"

Your number will then be validated by our system and you should see the ABA logo in your account (and publishers will also start seeing this logo when you request their books).

*You will be able to enter your ABA number in the Profile section as long as your member type is “Bookseller.” The number must be valid in order to be saved.
