SFTP is a more secure way to transfer assets and we recommend this method when uploading files to NetGalley’s FTP site. The SFTP address is sftp.netgalley.com, and you can use the same login and password to access your account. Files are placed in the _INBOX, and follow the exact same import processing schedule as FTP.
One important difference when using SFTP is that if you upload via a browser, you will need to install an add-on that works with SFTP. Our recommendation is NOT to use your browser, but to install and use FileZilla, a free program which makes transferring files via FTP very easy. See below for instructions for using FileZilla.
If you prefer to use your browser, here are instructions for the regular FTP site.
Name your cover and content files with the 13-digit ISBN for that title (for example, 9781234567890), no spaces, or the files will not import into NetGalley.
In order to upload files to the NetGalley SFTP using FileZilla, you must download FileZilla, which is free.
In the Host field, enter sftp://ftp.netgalley.com. Enter your user name and password, and click Quickconnect.
The left panel shows your local file structure, and the right panel shows your FTP directory.
To upload, drag files from the left panel into the _INBOX folder in the right panel. Please make sure to name your cover and content files with the 13-digit ISBN for that title (for example, 9781234567890.pdf), no spaces, or the files will not import into NetGalley.
The bottom panel shows the status of your file transfers.
