There are a few different ways publishers are able to deliver cover images.
For publishers who use Eloquence or Firebrand’s Content Services
We will ingest cover images directly from Eloquence when the NetGalley title record is created, as long as the cover image is available in Eloquence on Demand or Content Services. We will collect available Eloquence images on Tuesdays and Fridays. If you need to add a cover image immediately, you can also do so by adding your cover as described below.
For Content Services customers, there is a new asset type (in Title Management) named “NetGalley Cover Art High 500+ (CS)”. At a minimum, the longest side of the image should not be less than 500 pixels, but we can take any size larger than that (jpgs only).
Publishers not using Eloquence
There are two ways to upload content to NetGalley:
- Upload directly within your account. You will see the files in your account instantly.
- Upload via FTP. This is best if you want to upload multiple titles in a batch. Here are specific instructions for this process:
FTP File Upload:
Files are uploaded into the _INBOX folder at ftp.netgalley.com using your FTP login and password (this is not linked to your login and password at www.netgalley.com - please email email@example.com if you need a refresher on your FTP login information). All covers, metadata, and content files should be placed inside the _INBOX folder, or they will not import.
Files must be named with the 13-digit ISBN, no dashes, no letters, to exactly match the primary ISBN of the NetGalley title record (9781111111111.pdf). Files that are named correctly will automatically import into the associated NetGalley title record. Please note that only JPEG and PNG files are accepted by NetGalley, and you should only include the jacket image (and not the back cover, etc).
Please refer to our _INBOX processing schedule. If you add an asset to the INBOX at ftp.netgalley.com, and do not see it appear in your NetGalley account by the end of the business day, feel free to check in with firstname.lastname@example.org.
Cover images can be added before the title record has been created. You can add cover images to your NetGalley FTP _INBOX folder as often as you’d like.
Publishers and authors who pay per title should email title details and files to email@example.com per your confirmation and "Next Steps" message.
