We encourage you to let publishers know that you are a member of CIBA, to make it easier for publishers to approve your requests.
Booksellers who are members of the Canadian Independent Booksellers Association can now add their CIBA member ID to their NetGalley Profile. When you request books on NetGalley, publishers will see a CIBA logo under your name, allowing them to easily identify you as a validated CIBA member. Booksellers who are part of validated organizations are generally approved more quickly and often.
Add your CIBA member ID to NetGalley:
- Sign into NetGalley.com and navigate to your Profile
- Scroll to the section under your name where you see "Bookseller" listed, and click "EDIT"
- Enter your CIBA member ID and click "SAVE"
Your number will then be validated by our system and you should instantly see the CIBA logo in your Profile (and publishers will also start seeing this logo when you request their books).
*You will be able to enter your CIBA member ID in the Profile section as long as your member type is “Bookseller.” The number must be valid in order to be saved.
If you're unsure of your CIBA member ID, or want to inquire about membership, please contact laura.carter@cibabooks.ca or visit cibabooks.ca.
Tip: Encourage your staff members to sign up for a free NetGalley account and add the store’s CIBA member ID so they can also take advantage of these benefits. You can share this handy flyer with them!
