New ways to read on NetGalley!

We're thrilled to announce two new ways to read books on NetGalley!

The *New* NetGalley Reader

The NetGalley Reader is our new proprietary in-browser reader, offering a quick and easy reading experience in a web browser with a single click. No downloads or software required! It's the fastest possible way to start reading – no need to leave the NetGalley website, or use an external device. Learn more about the NetGalley Reader here.

Adobe downloads have been replaced with LCP downloads

As part of NetGalley’s ongoing efforts to enhance your reading experience, we have also made adjustments to the “Download” button. We are excited to replace Adobe DRM (.acsm) with Licensed Content Protection (LCP). This means that starting today, when you click or tap the Download button, you will receive an LCP file (.lcpl)

Good news: there are many LCP-supported devices and apps available! Our Device Guide details our recommended ways to read. Once you open a file in an LCP-supported device or app, you will be asked for your passphrase. Your passphrase is your NetGalley login. Once you enter your passphrase correctly, the full file will download and open.

Please note that if you have Adobe (.acsm) files already downloaded to a device or app, you can continue to read those until they expire (typically up to 55 days).
