Many publishers enable an expiring license for their books on NetGalley. You will see the number of days remaining on your license in an overlay (gray box) on the bottom of the cover image thumbnail. Most licenses last for 55 days and can be renewed before the license expires if the book is still active in NetGalley (not yet Archived). Please note: Once the license expires, if the book is Archived in NetGalley, then you will not be able to renew.
If your license still has time remaining, then you can renew within the app:
- From Home, Recently read, or My Books, just tap and hold the cover image of the book.
- Choose Renew from the menu that appears.
- The book’s license will renew for up to 55 days.
If your license has expired, but the book has not been yet been Archived in NetGalley, then you can get a new license by deleting and re-downloading the book:
- From Home, Recently read, or My Books, just tap and hold the cover image of the book.
- Choose Delete from the menu that appears.
- Go to Your NetGalley Shelf carousel, then tap the cover image to access the Download button.
- Tap the Download button to download the file to your NetGalley Shelf app.
- This will give you a new license for the file, which you can renew at any point before the license expires if the book has not been Archived in NetGalley.
