I am a member of the American Library Association (ALA). Can I tell publishers?

Let publishers know that you are a member of the ALA, to make it easier for publishers to approve your requests.

Librarians who are members of the American Library Association can add their ALA number to their NetGalley profile. When you request books on NetGalley, publishers will see an ALA logo under your name, allowing them to easily identify you as a confirmed ALA member. Librarians who enter their ALA numbers are generally approved more quickly and often.

To add your ALA number, sign into your NetGalley account, and go to your Profile by clicking on your name at the top of the screen.

Scroll to the first section under your name where you see "Librarian" listed, and click "EDIT" to the right of the screen. Drop in your ALA number and then click "SAVE.". Your number will then be validated by our system and you should see the ALA logo in your account (and publishers will also start seeing this logo when you request their books).

*You will be able to enter your ALA number in the Profile as long as your member type is “Librarian.” The number must be valid in order to be saved.
